File:Atari TT030 clock battery circuit (schematic C301762-001 sheet 4).png
Summary
[edit | edit source]Detail of sheet 4 of Atari's TT030/32 main board schematic, drawing C301762-001 (1 July 1991): the real-time clock MC146818A (U401) and its battery supply. The clock battery plugs into J400, a four-pin SIP connector: pin 1 feeds the VBAT line through two 1N4148 diodes, CR402 and CR401; pin 2 is the key; pins 3 and 4 are ground. With the machine running, VBAT is fed from VCC through Q401 (2N3906), switched by Q402 (2N3904) from the PWRGOOD line. C402 (10 µF) and C403 (0.01 µF) decouple VBAT; the clock crystal is Y400 (32.768 kHz).
