The AppleVision 1710AV and 1710 Displays Developer Note is a 62-page Apple Developer Press document from 1995 describing the hardware and software interfaces of the AppleVision 1710AV and AppleVision 1710. The hosted PDF was produced from FrameMaker files and distilled on 20 November 1995.[1]

What it settles

  • The display powers up in Local mode, driven by its own on-screen menu, and is switched to Remote mode by the AppleVision software over ADB; in Remote mode the front-panel buttons are reported to the Macintosh instead (pp. 5-6).
  • The displays synchronise over 50-120 Hz vertical and 28-82 kHz horizontal, wider than the 30-80 kHz given in the Service Source (p. 3).[1][2]
  • Figures 1-1 to 1-4 show front and rear views of both models, and Figure 1-5 the front-panel audio and video controls.
