Atari STBook Schematic
The Schematic Diagram MAXIST is Atari Corporation's twelve-sheet schematic of the Atari ST Book, drawing C104446-001, revision 7.0 ("engineering release"). MAXIST is the ST Book's engineering name, and the index sheet carries a handwritten "ST BOOK". The index is dated 18 March 1992; the individual sheets carry dates from 17 March to 14 August 1992. The title block names J. Tittsler as draughtsman and A. Shinagawa as engineer, and gives the next assembly as CA200691-XXX. The revision table lists revision 1 (preliminary release), revision 6 (1 MB/4 MB version, 30 September 1991) and revision 7 (engineering release).

What it does not contain
[edit | edit source]There is no parts list or bill of materials, no board layout or component placement drawing, and no drawing of the LCD panel's own board. Component values are printed on the sheets, so the electrolytic capacitors can be listed from it (see Atari ST Book Capacitor Replacement Guide), but a restorer has reported boards of the same revision fitted with surface-mount capacitors on one machine and through-hole parts on another, and an earlier board revision (5) in the field.[1] The scan also carries some handwritten notes, such as a "+16.8V" at the adaptor input on sheet 10.
