From RetroTechCollection

Commodore 64 Exposed is a book by Bruce Bayley on programming the Commodore 64 in BASIC and machine language. It was published in 1983 by Melbourne House (Tring, Hertfordshire, with Australian and American companies in South Melbourne and Nashville), copyright Beam Software, with contributions by Andrew Pavlomanolakos, Peter Falconer and Goodwin Yuen. The hosted scan is the second edition. ISBN 0-86161-133-0 (UK) and 0-86759-144-7 (Australia).[1] The numbered pages run to 198, the last three of them blank note pages.[2]

The book starts with BASIC and the machine's BASIC commands, then covers the SID sound chip, character and bitmap graphics and sprites, 6510 machine language with the Kernal routines and raster interrupts, and the Datasette, disk drives, 1515 printer, joysticks and paddles. The appendices are reference tables: CHR$ codes, a complete memory map, ROM routines and the BASIC error messages.[3]
