Summary

[edit | edit source]

Diagram of the power pins of the 4116, 4132, 4164, 41128 and 41256 DRAM chips: ground, +5 V, +12 V and -5 V. On the 4116, pin 1 is -5 V, pin 8 is +12 V, pin 9 is +5 V and pin 16 is ground; on the 4164 and 41256, pin 8 is +5 V and pin 16 is ground. A note warns that '+5 V only' 16K chips (examples given: Mostek MK4516, Intel 2118, Hitachi HM4816, Fujitsu MB8118) moved +5 V from pin 9 to pin 8, so fitting one in a 4116 socket puts +12 V on its +5 V pin.
