IBM 5110 Maintenance Information Manual
The IBM 5110 Computer Maintenance Information Manual, form number SY31-0550-2, is the third edition (February 1979) of IBM's field service manual for the IBM 5110. It replaces SY31-0550-1. The scan has 277 pages. IBM intended it to be used with the IBM 5110 System Maintenance Analysis Procedures (SY31-0553, hosted as File:IBM 5110 System Maintenance Analysis Procedures SY31-0553-2.pdf) and the IBM 5110 System Logic Manual (SY31-0552). Pages are numbered by section, for example 2-44 for page 44 of section 2.

What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]The DC power supply is treated as a field-replaceable unit. There is no schematic or parts list for it and no capacitance value anywhere in the manual. The only capacitors named are C1 and C2 in the AC box, without values. Logic diagrams are in the separate IBM 5110 System Logic Manual, and the 5114 Diskette Unit, 5103 printer and communications features have their own maintenance manuals.
