IBM PS2 Micro Channel OEM Hardware Product Guide (May 1988)

The IBM Personal System/2 Micro Channel OEM Hardware Product Guide is a 62-page IBM catalogue of third-party Micro Channel products, copyright IBM 1988; the back cover carries the print code 5188. The introduction describes it as "information about products being commercially marketed by other developers that directly attach to the PS/2 Micro Channel", based on information the developers supplied. IBM states that it had not evaluated the products and did not endorse them (p. 1).

What this document does not contain

It is a product directory. There are no register maps, adapter description files, jumper or switch settings, part numbers beyond the vendors' product names, or service information for any card.

What it settles

It lists the third-party Micro Channel cards on the market or announced in 1988, with their makers' addresses, which helps identify an unmarked early MCA card. Configuring such a card needs its own adapter description file and documentation.
