Macintosh C Programming By Example 1991

From RetroTechCollection

Macintosh C Programming by Example: A Step-by-Step Guide to Developing Programs with THINK C is a 1991 book by Kurt W. G. Matthies and Thom Hogan, published by Microsoft Press of Redmond, Washington, in its Macintosh Programming Series. ISBN 1-55615-357-0; Library of Congress QA76.8.M3M37648 1991, card number 91-37506.[1] The Library of Congress record gives the extent as viii, 279 pages.[2]

The book grew out of the authors' "Power Programming" column in MacUser, which ran from February 1990 to June 1991. It builds three complete applications over its chapters (Generic Application, Loser and Browser) and adds a chapter on the C language as it applies to Macintosh programming. The finished programs were supplied on a disk with the book.[3] The text covers THINK C versions 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0, the last being the System 7 compatible compiler, and an appendix deals with System 7.0 compatibility.[4]
