Macintosh Pascal Carmony-Holliday 1985

From RetroTechCollection

Macintosh Pascal is a 1985 book by Lowell A. Carmony and Robert L. Holliday, both of Lake Forest College, published by Computer Science Press, Rockville, Maryland, in its Computers and Math Series (ISBN 0-88175-081-6).[1] The Library of Congress record gives xiii, 497 pages.[2] The scan here is 512 PDF pages including the covers. The wiki's page title adds the authors' names because several books are simply called Macintosh Pascal.

The book is a self-study course in Pascal for Apple's Macintosh Pascal interpreter, aimed at beginners and emphasising structured programming. The authors note which features are standard Pascal and which are Macintosh extensions, and a disk of the sample programs and some "buggy programs" for debugging practice was sold separately. The preface records that the text was written in MacWrite on a 128K Macintosh and assembled on a 512K Mac or a Lisa running MacWorks.[3]
