Programming the Macintosh In Assembly Language 1986

From RetroTechCollection

Programming the Macintosh in Assembly Language is a 1986 book by Steve Williams, published by SYBEX of Berkeley, California. ISBN 0-89588-263-9; Library of Congress card number 85-62542. The scan is the first printing.[1] The Library of Congress record gives the extent as xxiii, 779 pages.[2]

The book teaches assembly language programming, the 68000 and Apple's Macintosh Development System together. It supplies a standard run-time library so that readers can write substantial programs before learning how Macintosh applications manage windows and files; Chapter 8 lists that library's source, and Chapter 6 builds a sample application, MacDoodle. The source files were sold separately on disk.[3] The trademark page lists the tools the book refers to, among them the Macintosh Development System, MacsBug, Consulair C, the Lisa Pascal Workshop, MaxDB and TermBug.[1]
