Service information

[edit | edit source]

In the U.S. the display was repaired through Apple's service facilitation process, as a mail-in repair either directly or through an authorised service provider; in Canada the strategy was whole-unit replacement.

The error-lights chart gives two power-light codes. Three short amber flashes, repeated, point to the graphics card or the Apple Displays Software. Two short flashes and one long flash, repeated, indicate a backlight problem, which the chart refers to Apple Technical Support.

The exploded view gives these part numbers: desktop stand 922-3952, flip-out stand 922-3950, thumbscrews 922-3954, USB port cover 922-3953 and power adapter 922-4166. The display assembly is marked "not offered". The manual has no procedure for opening the display assembly, and no schematic, component values or internal voltages.
