Apple Laserwriter Ii Service Training Participant Manual Version 1.1 Oct 1992
The LaserWriter II Service Course: Participant Manual, Version 1.1 is Apple's Service Training course book for the LaserWriter II family (IISC, IINT, IINTX, IIf and IIg). The scan has 80 pages and carries the notice "© 1992, 1996 Apple Computer, Inc." The page title's "Oct 1992" date does not appear in the book. Its required-materials lists call for the Apple Service Source CD version 2.0 (February 1996 or later), so this printing dates from 1996 or later.
The course has three modules: parts and functions, take-apart and reassembly, and troubleshooting. Each has objectives, practice exercises and a module test. It explains how each system of the printer works. The repair procedures themselves are in Service Source, which the course sends the student to.

The Operational Sequence section lists, in order, what the printer does between a print command and a delivered page. The take-apart instructions (p. 52) warn that fitting a silver screw where a black one came out reduces grounding and causes premature component failure.
What this manual does not contain
[edit | edit source]No parts list, no schematic and no component values. The take-apart module is a list of tasks to practise alongside the LaserWriter II Service Training videotape and the Service Source "Take Apart" chapter; it does not reproduce the procedures. The troubleshooting module likewise relies on Service Source, the Apple Service Guide for LaserWriter Printers (Volume I) and the LaserWriter II Test Connector. Much of the page count is exercises and tests. For procedures use LaserWriter II Service Source; for parts use Apple LaserWriter Printers Volume I (tab 3), which also gives the print engine as the Canon LBP-SX.
