Laserwriter Iint Ntx Owners Guide 1990
The LaserWriter IINT/NTX Owner's Guide in this scan is Apple's 1990 edition of the owner's manual for the LaserWriter IINT and LaserWriter IINTX, part number 030-3450-B. It has xviii front pages and 197 numbered pages; the scan has 215 pages including the covers and a safety information sheet.[1]
It is a revision of the 1988 guide (Laserwriter Ii Nt Ntx Owners Guide 1988), not a reprint. Troubleshooting has its own chapter, the Apple II appendix covers the Apple IIGS ROM 01 and ROM 03, and the MS-DOS appendix adds a warning about switching between AppleTalk and serial modes. Page numbers do not correspond between the two editions. The specification appendix gives the same figures in both.[1][2]

What it settles
[edit | edit source]Appendix E gives the specification: Canon LBP-SX engine; IINT controller with an 11.5 MHz 68000, 1 MB ROM and 2 MB RAM; IINTX controller with a 16.7 MHz 68020, 1 MB ROM, 2 MB RAM expandable to 12 MB, SCSI and a ROM expansion slot; eight pages per minute; minimum life 300,000 pages and a recommended service interval of 100,000 pages; 90-126 V AC 50-60 Hz or 198-264 V AC 50 Hz; 170 W standby and up to 900 W at 115 V; 20.5 kg.[2] The 1990 edition adds that paper must withstand 200 °C for 0.1 s without scorching, melting or giving off fumes.[2]
Appendix C warns that switching the printer from AppleTalk to serial mode while it is connected to an AppleTalk network can make it send serial data onto the network and damage both the printer and the network. Disconnect the network or disable the RS-422 port first, and never re-enable the RS-422 port while the printer is in serial mode.[3]
