Fear Macs No More 1993
Fear Macs No More, subtitled "What you need to know when you don't know what to do", is a beginner's guide to using the Macintosh by Danny Goodman, published by Brady Publishing, a division of Prentice Hall Computer Publishing, New York, in 1993 (ISBN 1-56686-082-2; Library of Congress 93-9562). The back cover files it under "Macintosh for Absolute Beginners".[1]
Each of its twenty chapters, called encounters, opens with a cartoon creature standing for a fear the beginner has to overcome, from Qwerty (the keyboard) and Togglebyte (switching on) to the Black Hole (what is in your machine) and the Trashies (staying organised).[1] The printed text runs to about p. 366 after the front matter; the scan has 387 PDF pages.[1]
