From RetroTechCollection

The IBM PS/2 Model 55 Supplement for the Hardware Interface and BIOS Interface Technical References is an IBM update package dated 7 February 1989, part number 01F0242, form number S01F-0242-00. The hosted scan is 72 pages and image-only. IBM issued new PS/2 models as supplements to be filed into the technical reference binders; this one is for the Model 55 SX (8555).

The instruction page (PDF page 2) says to:

  1. insert a "Power Supply (Type 3)" tab into the Hardware Interface Technical Reference behind the "Power Supply (Types 1 and 2)" section, with the new Type 3 pages behind it;
  2. insert a "Model 55" tab at the back of the same binder, with the IBM Personal System/2 Model 55 Technical Reference pages behind it;
  3. file the "IBM Personal System/2 Model 55 Supplement" page behind the Supplements tab of the PS/2 and PC BIOS Interface Technical Reference.

[edit | edit source]

The "Power Supply (Type 3)" pages named in the instructions are not in the scan. The hosted IBM PS2 Hardware Interface Technical Reference (May 1988) binder copy does contain a "Power Supply (Type 3)" section, filed behind "Power Supply (Types 1 and 2)" as the instructions describe. There are no FRU numbers, removal procedures, schematics or component values.
