Mastering machine code on your Commodore 64
Mastering Machine Code on Your Commodore 64 is a book by Mark Greenshields, published in London by Interface Publications; the copyright is 1984 and the hosted scan is the first printing of May 1984. ISBN 0-907563-69-4.[1] The numbered pages run to 232, the last two of them blank note pages.[2] It follows the author's Mastering the Commodore 64.
Section 1 lists a 6510 assembler, disassembler and monitor and teaches every 6510 instruction and addressing mode. Section 2 uses that assembler for character and pixel scrolling, sprites, music, interrupts, raster split screens and high-resolution graphics, and ends by adding commands to Commodore 64 BASIC. Section 3 explains the ROM routines, and the appendices give a memory map, character charts, the Kernal jump table and the 6510 instruction set.[3] Greenshields thanks Jim Butterfield for his public-domain SUPERMON monitor.[4]
