The Complete Book of Macintosh Assembly Language Programming Volume II 1987

From RetroTechCollection

The Complete Book of Macintosh Assembly Language Programming, Volume II is a 1987 book by Dan Weston, published by Scott, Foresman and Company, Glenview, Illinois. ISBN 0-673-18583-4; Library of Congress QA76.8.M3W47 1986, card number 86-3866, a record shared with Volume I (ISBN 0-673-18379-3).[1][2] The text and appendices run to p. 414, followed by the index.[3]

Weston's compatibility note says the book is a companion to Volume I but does not assume the reader has it; it does assume some toolbox programming experience. All listings are in the format of Apple's Macintosh 68000 Development System (MDS).[4] The examples are drawn from complete programs, and several deal with the differences between the 64K ROM of the Macintosh 128K and 512K and the 128K ROM of the Macintosh Plus: low-memory globals, ROM patches and how a program tells which ROM is installed.[5] The source code was sold separately on disk by Weston's company, Nerdworks, of Salem, Oregon.[6]
