What it settles
[edit | edit source]- The 190's 68LC040 runs at 66 MHz internally on a 33 MHz bus, and the machine can be upgraded to a PowerPC 603 by replacing the logic board (p. 18).
- Built-in RAM is 4 or 8 MB, with up to 32 MB on a card for 40 MB in all (p. 18).
- The note gives the colour 190cs a 16.8 V lithium-ion battery and the greyscale 190 a NiMH battery (pp. 18-19). Apple's Service Source lists NiMH for every 190 and 5300 model, and Macworld reported in December 1995 that NiMH packs were already in production for the 190; see PowerBook 190.
What this note does not contain
[edit | edit source]- No schematics, no parts list and no service procedures; see PowerBook 190 and 5300 Series Service Source.
- Its own sound descriptions disagree: the feature list gives only a stereo output jack, while the back-view drawing and the sound section mention an input jack (pp. 18-19 and chapter 3).
