What it settles

[edit | edit source]
  • The processor-direct slot must always hold either the termination card supplied with the server or a working card such as a video card; keep the termination card if it is replaced (pp. 26, 29).
  • SCSI IDs: on the internal bus ID 0 is the internal hard disk and IDs 1 to 6 are free; on the external bus the DAT drive and CD-ROM drive reserve IDs 2 and 3 although they are inside the case, leaving 1, 4, 5 and 6 (p. 35).
  • The Auto Power On/Off control panel option "Automatically restart after power failure" (p. 13).
  • DAT status lights: a flashing amber clean light means media wear or dirty heads, a solid amber light an error; clean the heads with a DDS cleaning cassette after every 25 hours of running time and replace the cassette after 25 uses (pp. 52-54).
