The Sharp PC-1245 is a pocket computer made by Sharp Corporation, with a 16-character LCD, a 52-key keyboard, BASIC in 24 KB of ROM and 2.2 KB of RAM. It runs for about 300 hours on two CR2032 lithium cells and takes the CE-125 printer and microcassette recorder.[2][1] Sharp's English instruction manual for it is dated 1983.[3]
The PC-1245 has the same 24 KB ROM size, cells, power consumption, dimensions and weight as the Sharp PC-1251, but a 16-character display instead of 24 characters and 1486 bytes for programs and data instead of 3486.[1][4] Sharp Pocket Computers describes it as the first in the PC-124x/125x series and gives the processor as an SC61860 at 576 kHz.[5] Wikipedia's list of Tandy pocket computers, which draws on Ira Goldklang's TRS-80 site, includes no PC-1245; the TRS-80 PC-8 was the PC-1246.[6]

Hardware
[edit | edit source]Sharp's instruction manual gives the PC-1245's capacities but not its circuit. The Sharp Pocket Computers archive holds service manuals for the PC-1246/1247, PC-1248 and PC-1250/1251, but none for the PC-1245.[5] No PC-1245 board drawing or parts list is available. The Sharp PC-1251 page describes the PC-1250/1251 board, a different model with the same ROM size, cells and case dimensions.
