Sharp MZ-80B Service Manual

The Sharp MZ-80B Service Manual is Sharp Corporation's English-language service manual for the Sharp MZ-80B personal computer and its options. The cover reads "SHARP SERVICE MANUAL, Personal Computer MZ-80B" and lists the MZ-80EU expansion port, the MZ-80IO2 universal I/O card, the MZ-80GMK expansion graphic RAM and the MZ-80FI floppy disk I/O card, with the MZ-80FB and MZ-80FBK floppy disk drives as optional peripherals. The scan has 83 pages. The specifications are for the 240 V, 50 Hz machine.[1]

Up to printed page 27 the PDF page number is the printed page plus two; printed page 28 is not in the scan, and from printed page 29 onwards the PDF page is the printed page plus one.[1]

  • The azimuth adjustment and head cleaning for the cassette deck, printed page 26.[2]
  • Board drawings and circuit diagrams for the CPU board, the power supply (board drawing on printed page 40), the monitor and the cassette recorder.[3]
  • Disassembled views, with the cassette mechanism and keyboard parts, printed pages 45 to 50.[4]

What this manual does not contain

  • No written disassembly procedure; the disassembled views show how the parts fit.[4]
  • No adjustment procedure for the power supply presets VR301 and VR401, or for the display.[2][5]
  • The 100 V Japanese MZ-80B and the later MZ-80B2 are not covered.[1]
  • Printed page 28 is missing from the scan.[1]
