Philips Videopac G7000 Documentation

Three Philips documents for the Philips Videopac G7000 are hosted on the wiki: two service manuals for different main boards and the English and German instructions for use. All three are scans from the Internet Archive.
Service manual CS 75 068 (G7000/20/35/53)
[edit | edit source]The Service Manual: Videopac Computer G7000/20/35/53 is Philips document 4822 727 13731, code CS 75 068, printed in the Netherlands and undated. The scan has 12 pages and carries the watermarks of videopac.org, lurpaks.com and videopacnews.com.[1]

What it does not contain
[edit | edit source]The manual has no disassembly instructions and no table of supply voltages. Its electrical parts list covers the semiconductors, the electrolytic and trimmer capacitors, R748, the crystal, the coil L695 and the fuses; the other capacitors and the fixed resistors appear only on the circuit diagram. The power unit is drawn on the circuit diagram, but the parts list gives only its fuses and rectifier diodes, not its transformer or the 2200 µF capacitor C1.[2][3] It does not cover the G7000/22 and /23, whose internal supplies and board layout differ.[4]
Service manual CS 61 799
[edit | edit source]The Service Manual: Videopac Computer G 7000, Philips document 4822 727 11796, code CS 61 799, describes a different main board. The scan has 6 pages: the cover and specification, the adjustments, the UHF modulator circuit and board, the main board layout, the circuit diagram CS 61 802 and the parts list.[5][6][7] Its board uses designators IC1 to IC30, a two-transistor crystal oscillator and LM340-5 regulators, and its power unit supplies 14 V DC at 0.8 A.[5][6]
Its parts list gives capacitance values without voltage ratings and covers only some of the board's parts; the 10 µF regulator output capacitors C92 and C95 and the modulator's electrolytics other than C120 appear only on the circuit diagrams.[7][6]
Instructions for use
[edit | edit source]Videopac Computer G7000: Instructions for Use / Gebrauchsanleitung is the owner's leaflet in English and German, 5 pages. It shows the parts of the console, covers connecting the handsets, the mains adapter and the aerial lead, and gives a short specification. It states that the console is switched off only by removing the mains plug.[8]
