What this guide does not contain

[edit | edit source]

It has no schematics, no component lists and nothing about the inside of the power supply, which SGI treated as a single replaceable unit. Disassembly is limited to opening the front and I/O doors, removing boards and changing the top-hat label. It refers to a separate IRIS Crimson Owner's Guide (007-1560-xxx) for adding peripherals.[1]

They cover board-level work only. There are no schematics or component data, and nothing on the power supply beyond SGI's warning that the chassis contains hazardous voltages.[2]
