O2 Workstation Hardware Reference Guide (007-3275-002)
[edit | edit source]The O2 Workstation Hardware Reference Guide is Silicon Graphics' 234-page owner's manual for the O2, document number 007-3275-002, copyright 1996, written by Judy Muchowski. This copy is SGI's electronic edition with a text layer, from the TechPubs library.[1]

What it does not contain
[edit | edit source]There are no schematics or component lists, and no power supply ratings beyond the mains input. The physical environment table gives the case as 12 × 9 × 5 inches, which conflicts with the 11.5-inch length in SGI's site preparation guide. The clock chip is not described, though the guide does warn that the board under the PCI tray holds the system's serial number (p. 20).

[edit | edit source]SGI's Site Preparation for SGI 2000-Series, Origin Family, Onyx2, Octane, and O2 has a chapter on the O2 (pp. 27–32) with the chassis dimensions and weight (Table 3-1), the power and cooling figures (Table 3-2: 245 W maximum, 835 BTU per hour, 37 cfm) and the airflow path (Figure 3-2). It is hosted as File:SGI Site Preparation for SGI 2000-Series, Origin, Onyx2, Octane and O2 (007-3452-004).pdf and cited by SGI O2 and SGI O2 General Maintenance.
