Octane Workstation VPro Graphics Power Supply Upgrade Instructions (007-4208-001)

[edit | edit source]

Document number 007-4208-001, copyright 2000; 20 pages in the PDF, 14 numbered. Removing the PCI module and the old supply, fitting the supply VPro needs, and checking with hinv -m that it reports PWR.SPPLY.ER 060-0035-001 or later (p. 14).[3] It does not say what the old supply's part number was or what differs inside the new one.

Site Preparation for SGI 2000-Series, Origin Family, Onyx2, Octane, and O2 (007-3452-004)

[edit | edit source]

SGI's site planning guide, document number 007-3452-004; 176 pages in the PDF. Chapter 4 (pp. 33-39) covers the Octane: siting, airflow (Figure 4-3), physical specifications (Table 4-1, p. 37) and power and cooling (Table 4-2, p. 38). Appendix B covers branch circuits and power cables.[9] Its operating temperature range for the Octane (10 to 35 °C) is wider than the owner's guide's (13 to 35 °C), and its cooling figure (2,899 Btu/h maximum) is higher than the owner's guide's 2,400 Btu/h.[9][1]
