SGI Personal Iris Documentation
SGI Personal Iris Documentation describes the Silicon Graphics documents for the SGI Personal Iris hosted here, with the PDF of each. The two board schematics are scans with OCR text from bitsavers.org, and the brochure is a scan from the Internet Archive.[1][2]
IP10 CPU board schematic and bill of materials (032-8029-001)
[edit | edit source]SGI's schematic of the IP10 CPU board of the 4D/25, drawing 032-8029-001, revision 1, dated 9 May 1989, 31 sheets, followed by the single-level bill of materials for the IP10 assembly without SIMM module (300-8029-001), effective 20 June 1989; 47 pages in all.[3]
Contents: the logic sheets of the board; sheet 30, I/O connectors, with the Ethernet, parallel, serial, keyboard and audio connectors, the SCSI connector and fuse, and the J6 power connector with its bulk capacitors, remote sense pins and AC fail signal; then the bill of materials, giving each part's SGI part number, description, quantity and board locations, including the tantalum capacitors (PDF p. 41) and the 3 V lithium battery and its socket.[3]

The Personal IRIS 3D Workstation (brochure, 1989)
[edit | edit source]SGI's sales brochure, copyright 1989, 12 pages, covering the 4D/20 and 4D/25. It describes the graphics, the performance (10 MIPS and 0.9 MFLOPS for the 4D/20, 16 MIPS and 1.6 MFLOPS for the 4D/25), memory of 8 MB standard and up to 32 MB, the standard interfaces, the IRIX software environment and networking, installation, the two-board modular design and peripheral options, and ends with a specification table and the Silicon Graphics product family.[5]

Other documents
[edit | edit source]bitsavers.org also holds SGI's V30/35 System Integrator's Guide (007-5015-020) and TG-V Graphics System Integrator's Guide (007-5016-010) of 1992, a VIP-10 schematic and a VME Eclipse CPU specification; sgistuff.net describes the V20 to V35 as VME board-set versions of the Personal IRIS.[1][6]
