Philips CDI 360 Capacitor Replacement Guide

The Philips CDI 360 uses the same main panel design as the Philips CDI 350, with surface-mount electrolytic capacitors of the kind retrostuff found leaking on the 350.[1][2] Unlike the scanned 350 manual, the 360 service manual has a complete parts list, including the power and servo sections, so the values below are taken from it directly.[3] The fitting advice, cleaning and checks after recapping are on the Philips CDI 350 Capacitor Replacement Guide.
Differences from the 350
[edit | edit source]Comparing the 360 parts list with retrostuff's 350 list shows three differences on the main board:[3][4]
- Power section: the 360 list has CP02 and CP03 (100 µF 16 V) but not CP14, CP15 or CP27, which the 350 list gives as 47 µF 16 V on the +5L and −8L rails for the LCD panel.[5]
- Video 1 section: the 360 has six 3.3 µF 35 V electrolytics at C451 to C456, where the 350's parts list gives 0.1 µF 25 V parts, and nothing at C460, while C459 is a 220 pF ceramic. On the 350, C459 and C460 are 10 µF 16 V electrolytics.[6]
- Every other electrolytic in the MMC, servo, audio and video 2 sections is at the same position with the same value on both players.

In total: 16 × 47 µF 6.3 V, 13 × 22 µF 16 V, 9 × 10 µF 16 V, 7 × 100 µF 6.3 V, 6 × 3.3 µF 35 V, 5 × 47 µF 16 V, 3 × 220 µF 16 V, 2 × 100 µF 16 V, 2 × 470 µF 4 V and one each of 220 µF 6.3 V, 470 µF 6.3 V, 470 µF 16 V, 2.2 µF 50 V and 4.7 µF 25 V, plus four bipolar 0.47 µF 50 V parts: 72 in all.[3]
The same list gives six film capacitors that retrostuff replaced on his 350 along with the electrolytics: C808, C813, C818, C903 and C904 (0.47 µF 50 V) and C833 (0.33 µF 50 V).[3][4]
Other parts
[edit | edit source]The LCD unit was a sealed service part that Philips did not repair locally, so the parts list gives no components inside it.[7] The 22ER9150 AC adapter has its own parts list in the manual.[8] The 22ER9142 Digital Video dock is the same accessory as on the 350; its four capacitors are listed on the CDI 350 guide.[9]
