What it settles

• The value and voltage rating of every electrolytic capacitor on the power supply board, and of the three supply capacitors at the main board connector (page 13, with the voltage code on page 28). These are tabulated in the Philips NMS 8245 Capacitor Replacement Guide.
• The supply's regulators: an STR2005 switching regulator for +5 V and two 7812s for +12 V and −12 V (pages 13 and 23).
• That the drive is belt-driven, with the belt's part number 4822 358 20269 (page 5).
• The five adjustment targets and the drive alignment procedure (pages 2 and 3).
• That the RTC is backed by a NiCd accumulator, BT1, Philips part 4822 138 10235 (page 22).

What it does not contain

• No fault-finding chart or repair method. Philips's repair method for the Philips NMS 8250 and NMS 8255 is a separate document for a different board.
• No written dismantling procedure; the exploded views on pages 24 and 25 are the only guide.
• The main board parts list itemises the tantalum and film capacitors but not the small electrolytics, whose values are only on the circuit diagrams.
• Nothing on the French /19 version.
